Various Logo Identities

This Project Uses: Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop

Throughout my years of designing, I’ve created countless logos to persuade, advertise, and brand companies. All companies presented are fictitious and was made during a solo design project and were made to showcase my work as a logo illustrator and designer.

This project includes:

  • Logo Creation & Ideation

  • Multimedia Usage of Logos

  • Animated Logos

Identity 01: Tether

Sketching / Brainstorming Process

While many of my earlier sketches were relying more on Tether’s main selling point, I decided to go with an idea that focused more on subtle characteristics and shapes that would brand Tether effectively without piggybacking off the idea of the American Dollar

Going Digital

I decided to go with a strong wordmark that was fun, bold, and effective. I decided to go with a yellow dotted line that both illustrated coins and a steady income/value.

A pictorial mark was also made for crypto application and icon purposes

Going Digital & Animated Logo

To drive the idea of the dotted line being a straight line to symbolize a steady coin value, this animated logo begins with the line being introduced as a straight line with no dotted appearance. This line would slide down to introduce the wordmark as well as fade into place.

Identity 02: Citrino Bowls

For Citrino Bowls, I wanted to create something that felt fresh, exotic, and geometric. The logo in it’s vertical lockups create a shape that resembles the initials C.B., but when flipped into the horizontal logo, this shape creates the illusion of an exotic bird flying.

Animated Logo

For this animated logo, I wanted to focus on the ideas that would make this Açaí bowl company stand out from their competitors. Using photography of citrus fruit in the shape of the logo creates this colorful slideshow that slowly fades into the vertical lockup.

Identity 03: Nihilbunny

Nihilbunny was an exercise in branding more of my odd illustrations. This logo ended up being used on my Etsy store where I currently sell a collection of illustrations I’ve created.

During the sketching process, I was deciding on whether or not I wanted to use my real name or a persona to brand my art.

Going Digital

For this project in particular, I decided to choose something that wasn’t my name, as the illustrations I was making were vastly different from what I was creating for my portfolio. For my logo, I decided to make a multitude of different lockups out of Pictorial marks and wordmarks.

Identity 04: Y2K Drag Prom

Phantom Power is a live venue that host concerts, open mic nights, and other events at Millersville University. As of recent, a group of LGBTQ+ students have been hosting drag shows every other month.

This past April, we were able. to host a Y2K-themed drag show, and I wanted to create a logo that was both eye-catching and focused on the current fashion trends and aesthetics of the early 2000s.

Final Poster

For the final lockup, I used a mix of my Y2K logo and Phantom Power’s logo. I decided to simplify Phantom Power’s logo and make the text bigger to make the shape and stroke around their logo less jarring when it sits above the title of the show.

These were used by Phantom Power as well as handed out throughout Millersville University by the cast.

In Conclusion…

Through all of these projects, I’ve been able to practice creating logos that speak volumes through simple illustrations and compositions. These prove that a brand’s identity is heavily influenced by it’s main visual.
